Jamie Menzies, a student of Potton, England, will bike 2,240 km across Europe to raise money for the hospital to treat his father for pleural mesothelioma, a rare cancer of the protective membrane of the lungs, which is almost exclusively due to prolonged exposure to asbestos. John Menzies has been diagnosed with this aggressive and incurable cancer in November 2010 and is currently being treated at Papworth Hospital.

"I go over 100 meters for each residential care will treat on average during the year to raise funds and awareness of the Papworth Hospital Charity, so that they can continue the incredible work," said Jamie.

Although the use of asbestos is banned in the United Kingdom, many teachers have construction workers and veterans exposed to highly toxic minerals, and many cases of mesothelioma have begun to emerge. Socialized medicine in the UK means that victims do not have to spend their savings on the treatment of malignant mesothelioma, but they often leave their homes and cities to seek treatment in hospitals that have experience in treating this cancer.

Wednesday June 8 Jamie, 22, of cycle Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire, England, Geneva, Switzerland, and again to raise money for research on mesothelioma place Papworth Hospital. Jamie wants to complete their journey within 23 days, traveling an average of 97 km or 60.5 miles per day and hopes to raise £ 2.240, £ 1 for every mile they bike. This is a fundraising goal that Jamie had to increase because of the surprisingly large number of donations.
