Just About Halfway There!!!

I come bearing lots of good news!
First of all, St. Augustine Record published a story today about my new CD project on the front page of the "Lifestyles" section. The pics above are from the article. You can see the story at: http://staugustine.com/stories/050309/community_050309_015.shtml .
I especially like the title: "Musician Brings Dream Into Focus."
Those words feel like an apt description for what is taking place in my life right now, overall.
It was exciting to wake up to the news of the news! Hopefully a lot of people will come out to the CD party, which, by the way, is May 12. =)
I had a lovely afternoon playing at Scarlett O' Hara's. I have a great support group that sits at the table right in front of me, cheers me on, and makes me laugh. Justin has been a big help with setting up and breaking down.
Lately I have been having at least one fresh vegetable juice per day and I am feeling great.
I cooked a healthy dinner for the whole family (me, my dad, Bill, and grandma) last night and it actually turned out really good. Bill has been talking especially a lot today and my dad said, "maybe it was that food you gave him!" Ha ha ha.
Tomorrow is chemo number six, which marks the halfway point on my chemo treatment. !!
I think my last chemo is scheduled for July 27...which doesn't really seem that far away!
Woohoo!
Luckily for me, each chemo has been easier for my body to tolerate and process. The first two were the most challenging to deal with, and that was only for a few days. I am very grateful and pleasantly surprised that I have basically been able to live a "normal" life. I have sort of been sleeping a lot, but that is not necessarily out of the ordinary. My dream life has been quite interesting. This morning in my dreams I was lucid, totally aware that I was dreaming, and in my dream I was practicing that same kind of awareness for waking life. No matter what happened in the dream, I just practiced remaining present and aware. I realized that, on some level, it was me making up the dream. I could make it whatever kind of dream I wanted. I was glad that it was up to me whether this dream was a nightmare or not. I encountered friendly, encouraging characters. At the same time that I knew I was dreaming, it felt very real.
Anyway, I guess there is really not much to report, except that things are going very well.
I am excited to soon begin practicing with some musician friends, preparing for the show on the 12th.
I am also happy to say that I now have a metronome that works and is actually really cool.
It is mechanical, you wind it up by hand, it ticks away, and since the plastic is clear, you can see it working!
Neat!
