A Normal Update :)

Gabe and Pooka are so cute! Pooka often curls up next to Gabe, as she is doing in the picture above. She also enjoys pulling playfully on his floppy ears. This was a quiet moment. :)

I am calling this a normal update because I am going to stick to the facts! My cousin Jen came to town this weekend- she's mostly been running around with my sister- they are both now at another cousin's house a few hours away from here. It has been really nice to see Jen! She is an inspiring, beautiful, strong, and energetic lady! She is also VERY good at puzzles!

I had a nice day out yesterday. I went to the birthday party of a good friend's niece and nephew. I enjoyed spending time with my friend as well as re-meeting old friends and making new ones.

Early yesterday evening I was a little too excited about going on a walk with my mother. I went to let the dogs out before she and I were to go. I don't know how I did what I did exactly, but I think there was too much bounce in my step. I skipped a couple porch steps and landed ackwardly and painfully with my ankle at an odd angle for a quite uncomfortable moment. Ouch. I sat there with that sensation for a bit. When my mom came out I was still sitting there. "Um...I hurt myself." What a dork! :p

Mom has of course been doing what she does really very well and seems to enjoy doing....mothering me. She asks me about every five minutes if I am still okay? Ha ha ha. My ankle is swollen and wrapped up. I don't think it's broken because it doesn't hurt that badly. I have a cane I can hobble around the house with. And into the oncologist's office tomorrow. :) Like I need to draw more attention to myself!

Yes.....tomorrow.....is......Chemo #11! That is, the second to last! Yahoo!!!!!!!!! It is amazing that I am nearly at the end of ABVD. It doesn't seem so long ago that the six months loomed ahead of me, looking like such a long road. Everything passes!

I started reading "Anticancer: A New Way of Life" today. I am finding it very good so far.

Love!
